We are grateful for the support of our donors

2022 December #2

Can you believe it? Another year has come and gone…

At this year-end time, some of us may take a moment and look back over the last year…and realize that there have been many changes in different areas for the majority of us. Whether it has to do with family, friends, school, job, church, or otherwise, we all have experienced some ups and downs and pros and cons.

Change is inevitable. We know it is necessary in the big scheme of things, but sometimes, it feels overwhelming – especially when the changes feel negative.

So, we are going to turn that around, and go in the opposite direction and share with you a few positive changes that have been going on this last year at our campus.

One of our donor families has provided supplies for our Children’s Center building to be remodeled. That project has been a desire of the staff for many, many years. It was one of the numerous plans Jeremy had for the family-based shelter he founded back in 1986.

Remodeling the old building for the new space will allow our tiny guests (with their parents) to enjoy time with other kids as they learn to interact with each other during the cold or hot days when playing outside is not preferable. We are thrilled about this new space and what it will mean for our residents. Our guests will soon be able to utilize this space.

As well, another set of donors has graciously supplied us with equipment to fill a new computer room, which will be used by our residents. Computers, tables, and chairs were purchased and placed in a newly refurbished area, inside the Multi-purpose building, that will be solely used for training, instruction, and program needs.

The adults and students will be able to seek employment on the internet, create resumes, and attend special classes within the space. We are excited about the upgrades and how they will enhance our programs.

We are grateful for the support of our donors!

We are very aware that we could not do what we do, providing for all the needs of those who come to us, without the help of compassionate people who are willing to share their funds and time with us. We thank them from the bottom of our heart!

However, at this time of year, we are always faced with the responsibility of preparing for a new year ahead. We would like to end 2022 well, because most of our revenue comes from the last few months of each year. That’s what carries us through the first three-fourths of the next year.

Hope and change, for each of our guests, are truly options that can be attained. But, we need your help.

Please consider joining our efforts of caring for the homeless and hungry of our city.

If you mail in a gift, please make sure it’s postmarked by December 31st to be tax deductible this year. Also, online donations may be made at joyjunction.org until midnight on 12/31/22 for the 2022 tax year.
