Joy Junction Homeless Shelter will provide the following holiday feasts for the homeless.
The shelter's 23rd annual pre-Thanksgiving Dinner will take place at Joy Junction's 4500 Second Street Southwest facility at 6.00 p.m. on Monday Nov. 24.
It is sponsored by Andrew Bustos and his business Precision Catering: Video
Bustos was shot by two teenagers in 2007 as he confronted them about tagging his parent's house. Grateful for his recovery, he poured his heart into serving the needy.
Joy Junction CEO and Founder Dr. Jeremy Reynalds said, "I am so grateful for Andrew's generosity. We have a wonderful, giving community here in Albuquerque and Andrew exemplifies that kind spirit."
On Wednesday Nov. 26, from 11 a.m. through 2 p.m., along with KNKT 107.1, SMG, the Albuquerque Convention Center and the City of Albuquerque, Joy Junction will treat about 1500 homeless guests to a delicious Holiday Feast at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
The shelter's 23rd annual traditional Thanksgiving dinner will take place at Joy Junction's 4500 Second Street Southwest facility at 2.00 p.m. on Thursday November 27.
Reynalds said, "We're hoping for a terrific time and thank the community for a wonderful outpouring of support, despite the difficult economy."
Reynalds said that Joy Junction invites anyone, lonely or hungry, to come and eat at the shelter for any of its three traditional Thanksgiving dinners.
Media wishing to film dinner preparations on Thanksgiving Day may do so from 5 a.m. Stations may "go live" from the Joy Junction kitchen if producers wish. Please call Jeremy Reynalds at (505) 400-7145 a day in advance if at all possible.
